Day of Remembrance - December 21, 2012
Colleagues:
We have been invited by our colleagues in the Connecticut State Education Department to join them in a day of remembrance on Friday December 21st beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a moment of silence. Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy has contacted every governor in the nation to ask them to participate in a national moment of silence.
This tragedy weighs heavy on our nation and even heavier in our classrooms. I hope you'll encourage principals, teachers, staff and students to observe a moment of silence tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. to honor those lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all the families of Newtown, Connecticut.
