Commission of the States - The core of this Web site is the Education Issues section, which provides a
wealth of information on dozens of education issues, from accountability to vouchers. Each "Issue
Site" includes an overview of the issue; information about state legislation, programs and activities;
links to the best research, reports and articles about the issue; links to other Web sites with good
information about each issue; and other resources such as examples of good education practice and databases
that can be sorted into tailored views.
Fulbright Teacher and
Administrator Exchange Program - The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the
United States Department of State and arranges direct one-to-one classroom
exchanges to over thirty countries for teachers at the elementary, secondary,
two-year, and four-year college
levels. Administrators can participate in six-week shadowing experiences in
nine different countries.

Initiative on Education Excellence for
Hispanic Americans Website - The Initiative serves as a resource for
information relating to the closing of the educational achievement gap of
Hispanic Americans.
Insideschools.org - An
independent non-profit group offering authoritative reviews of the more than
1,100 NYC public schools.
National Association of School Safety
and Law Enforcement Officers (NASSLEO) - NASSLEO is the oldest national
organization dedicated to assisting school administrators and law enforcement
organizations in developing and maintaining safe schools.
New York City Early Childhood
Professional Development Institute - This website includes information on
New York City college/university degree programs in Early Childhood; Early
Childhood Continuing Education programs; and professional development
opportunities. It also contains information that supports the efforts of program
directors and others to improve the quality of their programs.
New York State
Earlychildhood.org - This website has been developed to support professional
development and improve the quality of early childhood and school-age programs.
It is designed to provide a one-stop source of information for those exploring
careers in early childhood and school-age programs as well as those already
working in the field and looking to advance in their careers. It also contains
information that supports the efforts of program directors and others to improve
the quality of their programs.
OLAS Jobs: On-Line Application System
for Educators - OLAS is an Internet-based application serving school
districts in several regions of New York state. These school districts have
committed to using this system as their primary source for filling jobs.
Districts can view applicant information, resumes, and cover letters. Candidates
are able to apply to specific positions using one application and/or have an
option of granting all districts access to their application.
Partnership for
Reading - A joint effort by the National Institute for Literacy, the
National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and the U.S.
Department of Education. This site offers information about the effective
teaching of reading for children, adolescents, and adults, based on the
evidence from quality research.
