Storm Update

As per the Governor's Office of Employee Relations, New York State Agencies are allowed to permit non-essential employees in the Capital District to be absent from work today (2/14/2014) with charge to appropriate leave credits, and with supervisory approval. Essential employees should report to work as scheduled or as directed by management.

To help assist with a safe and orderly morning commute, state offices in the Capital District will open on a staggered schedule February 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. We ask that non-essential employees, to the greatest degree possible, adhere to the staggered schedule. This will aid plow drivers in keeping roads clear. Employees will not be charged time for the staggered opening schedule. Essential employees should report to work as scheduled or as directed by management. This includes State Education Department, Office of State Comptroller and Attorney General.

The opening schedule for the Capital Region is as follows:

State offices, facilities, and operations will remain open on February 14, 2014. However, due to the ongoing effects of the Nor’easter that hit New York, non-essential employees, in light of the expected weather conditions in the Hudson Valley, Catskills, Westchester, New York City and Long Island areas, may absent themselves from work with charge to appropriate leave credits and supervisory approval. Essential employees should report to work as scheduled or as directed by management.
