Supplemental 2011-12 Education Jobs Fund (EJF) Budget Amendment

Sub-recipients have received a supplemental award  PDF ICON (38KB) due to the reallocation of additional federal funds. These supplemental funds have been added to each sub-recipient's existing 2011-12 award. Sub-recipients must file an Amended Budget Summary for 2011-12 in the ARRA online system, under Applications, Budgets, Amendments and Finals, to receive the full amount of their award. The system is accessible through the NYSED Business Portal.

Although these supplemental funds have been allocated late in the school year, SED recommends school districts try to completely expend the total 2011-12 award, including the supplemental amount, by the end of the school year, June 30, 2012.

Deadline for filing the amended Budget Summary is August 1, 2012. All funds must be budgeted and encumbered by August 31, 2012.  As with all ARRA applications and reports, each district’s Superintendent must complete and certify the submission.

Districts should not submit the Final Expenditure Report for Education Jobs Fund for 2011-12 until all funds, including the supplemental amount, are expended. The Final Expenditure Report for all Education Jobs funds, including the supplemental amount, must be submitted no later than September 30, 2012.  Compliance with this deadline will help assure your ability to fully claim all funds available to your district from the Education Jobs Fund. 

IMPORTANT: Sub-recipients that filed a 2010-11 Final Expenditure Report indicating expenditures for the full EJF grant award were spent prior to July 1, 2011, must now file a Budget Summary via the amendment process for 2011-12 to access the supplemental funds.
